A major feature of the holiday timetable are the pony days. These days run from 9am - 5pm.
What is a pony day?
Children can come and spend the day training in riding and pony care. They are grouped into ages and/or friendship groups. They spend the day rotating between activities including, riding lessons, hacks, mounted games training, and many pony care subjects.
The children are under instruction throughout the day and the main emphasis is on having lots of fun whilst learning. Pony days are ideal for children aged 5 years old - 14 years.
Hill Farm Equestrian Centre is one of Suffolk's leading riding schools. It was established in 2002 by Megan Ayton-Andrews. Megan is one of the countries youngest proprietors of a riding school, but despite her young age she manages to run an outstanding yard. It manages to balance the role of being a highly professional training establishment within a friendly family centred yard.
Our riding lessons are taught by qualified instructors on well mannered, sensible horses and ponies. The school has 16 horses and ponies available, each having its own individual strengths that give our clients a variety of personalities and challenges whilst learning to ride. The horses and ponies are regularly schooled by our team, so that the rider can gain the most from their lesson on safe and experienced horses.
Our small yard, with a 20x40 outdoor arena, heated class room, shop, and enclosed secure stable yard means that you and your children will be guaranteed a very friendly and personal welcome. Our main clientele at Hill Farm are children aged 4 - 16 years, as you will see from our website we run lots of child based activities. Because we have a small team we find that even the shyest of children are joining in all activities within no time at all.We also provide adult lessons, take a look at our Riding lessons page for more information.
Hill Farm is an approved British Horse Society (BHS) Equestrian Centre and Pony Club Training Centre with education and practical training in pony care a key part of our activities.
