Suffolk Holiday Activity Programme

4b32ceb46368280945fb4be50bdd3002.jpgSuffolk County Council in partnership with District & Brough Councils are working with local schools, voluntary and community organisations, and childcare providers to run an exciting holiday programme this Christmas as part of the Department for Educations (DfE) Holiday Activities and Food programme (HAF).

What is HAF?

HAF is a DfE funded programme that offers free places to children and young people aged 5 to 16 (reception – year 11), who are eligible for means tested free school meals to enriching activities and healthy food. Attendees can take part in up to four days of funded activity over the Christmas school holiday period.  Previously there has been an offer during the Easter and Summer holiday periods.

What activities are on offer in the HAF programme?

There are a range of activities available for children to access from traditional sports camps, adventure camps, dance, football, arts & crafts, boxing, youth activities, and family cooking. 

Where and when is HAF taking place?

There will be venues across Suffolk offering access to HAF activity from Ipswich to Newmarket, Lowestoft to Haverhill and Stowmarket to Sudbury with other venues in between.

If you would like to apply for grant funding to run a holiday activity in Suffolk please read the Holiday Activity Provider Guidance Notes and complete a Proposal Form and return this to HAFenquiries@Suffolk.gov.uk.
