10th Anniversary of the Malvern Hills Challenge
The Malvern Hills are regarded as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). The location is famed for its dramatic hills and for its pure spring water. From the ridge you can see a rich cultural heritage of ancient forts, castles and priories which stand proudly from this landscape of ancient woodland, rolling pastures and wild, open commons. The geology is varied and the terrain home to a diversity of locally and nationally important wildlife.
The Malvern Hills Challenge was first held in 2009 to raise vital funds for the charity Help for Heroes, which supports serving and ex-service personnel of our forces. So far, the event has raised over £100,000 for the charity. You can find out more about the challenge here.
You can take part in the 2021 Malvern Hills Challenge - as the 2020 challenge was postponed, this years marks the 10th Anniversary of the event. It is being held on Saturday 18th September and is open to registrations now!
The Malvern Hills Challenge offers 2 distances you can register to take part in, as an individual or as a team - so ask your friends, family and colleagues if they would want to join you! You can even register your dog to take part!
There is a Full route of 18km which tales in 17 peaks, and a Half route of 9km which takes in 7 peaks.
For all who register, they will get a Malvern Hills Challenge T-shirt and route guide. All finishers (yes, even dogs!) will get race mementos, and an official photographer is on hand to capture the memories too. Refreshments are available to purchase.
While you are welcome to tackle the walks at speed if you wish, we recommend you do them at your own pace, and whatever that may be, we will be waiting for you at the finishing line with a Heroes welcome.
All that is left is for you to decide which walk to register for - and then register here!
If you can't take part but still wish to support the event and Help for Heroes, please donate through our JustGiving page here.
