Hape Walk Along Puppy Review
We have recently been playing with the 'Hape Walk Along Puppy' which is marketed at children 12 months plus. My first impression were "what a gorgeous toy", is it a very well made wooden puppy with red detailing to its ears, wheels and tail. It's head hangs down and lifts when being pulled along by the string. Unlike other pull alongs we have explored this toy seems to have added 'movement', it's tail moves as well as its ears and it's back legs are flexible meaning you can sit it back on its hind legs.
My little boy is a 2 year old, very active and adventurous little lad who has most definitely proved that the toy is robust. He has enjoyed pulling the puppy along with the string and taking it for 'walks', he is slowly moving into the realms of role play and likes to walk the dog alongside taking his baby for a walk in the buggy.
We have a dog which we take on family walks regularly and this toy has been a lovely way for him to act out what he sees in he world around him.
With previous pull along toys we have found that the string used to pull the toy along is not long enough for the toy to have much longevity, my little boy is quite tall and we find the string is a very good length for him to pull the toy about with ease and will last him well without us needing to find a way to extend the string!
The puppy has a rubber lining to its wheels, which from a parents perspective is clearly a good idea as it helps to prevent scratches to flooring.
To summarise, the Hape Puppy is a lovely addition to any child's toy box, it is a sturdy, attractive and well made product that can offer children lots of fun, inside and out. It's a great toy to allow children to immerse themselves in role play as well as encouraging their gross motor skills. We have very much enjoyed and will continue to enjoy this great toy.

My name is Charlotte, myself and my husband Colin have been married for almost 12 years. We have two beautiful children, Florence who is 8 and Maximus who is 5. As a family we love nothing more than walking our gorgeous dog, Willow, getting messy and creative and snuggling up to watch a multitude of films together!
