Be the first to reach the mountain top in this exciting counting and addition game, which includes a 3D mountain!
Take turns to turn over two footprint cards, count the yeti footprints and move your climber up the mountain the same number of spaces. Children will enjoy hanging their climbers onto the 3D mountain.
However, watch out for the yetis! If you turn over a yeti card you must move backwards the number of footprints shown. If you turn over two yetis everyone moves backwards two spaces!
We were able to review this wonderful Orchard Game with our 8 year old daughter and 5 year old son. The game appealed to us initially, mainly due to the age and stage suiting our son and looked as though it would be a fun way to develop his number skills.
The game is designed for 2-4 players and includes people as your playing piece. The game is 3D once it is made, which is very easy to do and makes the game that little bit more special and fun!
The idea behind the game is that your playing piece climbs the mountain based on what you roll BUT if you manage to roll a Yeti then your piece has to go back down the mountain and start again! The rules to the game are very simple which means younger players are able to play with ease. It also meant that my daughter and son could play independently without an adult supporting.
As well as promoting numeracy skills the game also develops turn taking and social skills.
The game is one which my children want to play again and again! It is colourful, fun, simple and educational. Everything you expect to get from an Orchard Game. This one did not disappoint and I would recommend to anyone whether it be for fun or to develop those numeracy skills.
My name is Charlotte, myself and my husband Colin have been married for almost 13 years. We have two beautiful children, Florence who is 9 and Maximus who is 6. As a family we love nothing more than walking our gorgeous dog, Willow, getting messy and creative and snuggling up to watch a multitude of films together!
