Swim Buddies Academy' lessons are designed for children aged between 4-11 years.
Each of our swimming tanks are arranged accordingly to your little buddies swimming experience and water confidence.
Here at Swim Buddies academy' our priority is to ensure that your buddy develops excellent water skills. As each buddy journeys through our swim tanks they will successfully achieve new skills and develop strokes each term until they are ready to move on to the next level.
Each class is 30 mins long in length and is filled with fun, interactive games and productive learning.

Here are more details about Swim Buddies stages:
Swim Stage 1 Starfish
This stage is suitable for children 4yrs and over who have been assessed as confident in the water. This stage works towards safe entries and exits, submerging with open eyes, forming streamline positions in the water by learning how to push and glide and to swim a distance of five meters on the front and back with assistance of fixed swimming aids.
Swim Stage 2 Turtles
In this stage, the skills from Stage 1 will be carried over and children will be working towards kicking proficiently and swimming five meters on front and back without the use of swimming aids. Push and glides will also be an emphasis throughout this stage, as will an introduction to all of the strokes.
Swim Stage 3 Penguins
The swimmers will now be focusing on developing their streamline position into how this can be used with all strokes. In this stage pupils will work towards swimming 10 metres on the front and the back without assistance and also towards swimming breaststroke for 10 metres with the assistance of floats or other swimming aids.
Swim Stage 4 Stingrays
This stage is about building water confidence, developing the understanding of buoyancy through a range of skills. Swimmers will also focus on refining kicking techniques for all strokes and swimming 10 meters to a given standard.
Swim Stage 5 Seals
Stroke techniques and stroke efficiency are the main emphasis at this stage. Water skills are developed by using sculling actions and treading water. Complete rotation and performing all strokes to a given standard are also required at this stage.
Swim Stage 6 Dolphins
This stage will concentrate on developing effective water skills, including coordinated breathing, developing water safety aspects and an understanding of preparation for exercise.
Swim Stage 7 Sharks
Stage 7 is the last stage before the swimmers can decide upon a discipline to pursue. In this stage pupils are expected, upon completion to be able to swim 50 meters showing efficient technique in all strokes. They will also be able to perform all types of touch turns and a tumble turn.
Swim Stage 8 Chris Cook Challenge Sessions
This session is recommended for swimmers who wish to continue swimming to progress to their Challenge Awards. This session is also suitable for swimmers who would like to become a competitive swimmer before joining a club or those who enjoy swimming and wish to swim for fitness.
