Parent & Toddler - Suitable for ages 2+ .
Children may begin climbing aged 2 at Durham Climbing Centre on a Parent & Toddler Session. This session includes shoe hire and a tea or coffee for parent. Instruction is not provided.
Rock Stars Climbing Club - Suitable for ages 3-16yrs
Durham Climbing Centre Coaches teach children climbing techniques and movement skills in a fun and social environment nurturing each child individually to achieve their full potential. All sessions are suitable for beginners with no previous experience of climbing.
Durham Climbing Centre is a family friendly climbing centre with large dedicated Junior Bouldering Area and coffee lounge. The Rock Hard Coffee Lounge overlooks the Junior Bouldering Area making it a perfect spot to enjoy a coffee and light bite while watching all the action!
Places are limited please book in advance by phoning the centre on 0191 3789555 or at the end of each session. Sessions run all year round including school holidays. Additional sessions run during school holidays.
Baby Rock Stars 3 - 6 Years
The first step for children to learn valuable movement skills and techniques in climbing. Promotes co-ordination, self confidence and socialisation from an early age in a safe and friendly environment
Rock Stars 7 - 11 Years
Recognising young climbers skills and achievements in bouldering through our Rock Stars Award Scheme. A unique in-house Award Scheme for ages 7+ designed to reward juniors as they work through Bronze, Silver and Gold criteria to become Junior Helpers. Each child is given their own file when they have attended for 6 weeks or more. Inside each file is set criteria and useful information to track and record progress. For each milestone, certificates and medals are awarded. There is no additional charge for the Scheme.
The ultimate goal for Juniors is to achieve their very own 'Buddy Badge' after completion of the Gold Award. As a Buddy Badge holder, Junior helpers may be asked by their coaches to pair up with new members and given extra responsibilities by their coaches. As a Gold Award holder, children receive a medal, certificate and buddy badge from their coaches. Junior Helper's may be called upon by their coaches for extra responsibilities including buddying up with new members and may even be asked to demonstrate techniques to the rest of the class.Juniors may complete NIBAS awards alongside their Rock Stars Lessons.
Rock Juniors 12 - 16 Years
Coaching sessions for older children focussing on developing advanced skills in climbing.
National Indoor Boulder Award Scheme - Suitable for ages 7+
DCC Academy - Suitable for Talented Climbers
Fun days and seasonal party events e.g Halloween and Christmas
Children's Parties include one and a half hours climbing with a qualified instructor and use of the party tea room for half hour.

Directions - From Durham City Centre- Follow the A690 out of Durham towards Nevilles Cross. At Nevilles Cross traffic lights head straight across following signs for Crook A690/ Meadowfield Industrial Estate. Follow the road through Langley Moor to Meadowfield. Do not take the first turn for Meadowfield and Littleburn Industrial Estate, instead continue until Meadowfield District Sports Centre is visible on the right hand side. Turn left opposite the Sports Centre on to St John's Road. Take the first turn on right.
