Can I have a snack?’ is going to be heard coming from little mouths far and wide across the country this week in Soft Plays Centres now they are open.  Many venues across the country are now kitted out with healthy snack options thanks to a campaign run by UK Premium baby and toddler food brand, Piccolo.  Piccolo advocates that all children should have access to nutritious & healthy food, so at the height of the pandemic began offering free products to soft play centres across the country to ensure they were stocked up and ready for when the children returned.

 

Traditionally, Soft Play Centres have provided an array of convenient snacks with high levels of sugar and salt. Over this past year, Piccolo’s campaign has made sure healthier options are available for all families visiting soft play centres, with a selection of fruit and vegetable smoothies, pouches, oat bars and fruit melts for children to choose from whilst playing. 

 

Piccolo believes it is important to keep spirits high during playtime and a way of keeping everyone happy can be achieved by providing balanced healthy food options. The addition of Piccolo snacks not only will keep a smile on little faces but helps parents by making life easier for them, supplying suitable snacks, so they don’t have to bring some from home.   

Tops Tips on how to tackle your first visit to Soft Play:

  • Make sure you and your child are wearing loose fitting clothing, you are guaranteed to end up on your hands and knees with them in the play area!
  • Make sure you have pockets for your essentials and socks on.
  • Get there early before the crowds arrive! It is much nicer to have the whole place to yourself as they can get very busy.
  • If you child is young, make sure to watch them and accompany them if they head into a large soft play area.  They can be little mazes and the last thing you need is a panic trying to get to them!
  • Bring plenty of water – after all it is a workout for the little ones!
  • Don’t overdo it on their first experience, limit the session to 45 minutes so your child doesn’t get over tired and over stimulated.
  • Be prepared that they won’t want to leave, so make sure to have a healthy snack for your child to coax them away when leaving or pop to the café to buy one on your way out.
  • Embrace it and have fun!
