Quay School of Theatre Dance
The Quay School of Theatre Dance is a warm and friendly school offering classes in Ballet, Tap, Modern, Jazz & Street classes. Weekly lessons are held in Sudbury and Ixworth, where pupils are accepted from the age of 3. We also hold classes for adults.
Young children love to move, be it at play or when listening to music. By channeling these energies through structured dance and movement classes, it can help to develop cognitive, motor and social skills. It also helps to instil exercise as a way of life. Dance is a fun activity, which frequently produces well co-ordinated young people with good posture, self esteem and social skills.
Street dance sessions take place for children aged 7 and over in Ixworth on Wednesdays and in Sudbury on Thursdays. We also have a 'Boys Only' Street dance class on Thursdays in Sudbury.
We offer informal and enjoyable Tap classes to adults, as well as 'FitSteps' sessions. 'Fitsteps' is a great way to keep fit whilst learning some Ballroom and Latin moves too! No partner needed.
All teachers are members of The Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing and hold a CRB disclosure. The school offers pupils the chance to take exams, attend annual summer schools and appear in shows; as well as taking part in well-structured but fun classes.

"Our eldest is now pursuing a place at university to continue her dance studies. Our middle daughter has been identified as "gifted & talented" in dance at her school and our youngest is helping choreograph the school production. None of which would have happened without the teaching and focus provided by the Quay School of Dance."L Mitchell.
