Poseidon Swim School Ltd
Started in 1991, Poseidon Swim School boasts 17 years of successfully teaching swimming. We have a fantastic team of 30 dedicated teachers and lifeguards who have undergone CRB checks. All teachers are qualified instructors and are required to take part in monthly training sessions for first aid and lifesaving as well as holding recognised lifesaving certificates. All teachers take part in the industries continued professional development scheme attending seminars to further enhance their skills. A number of our teachers have undergone specific training for children with special needs. Classes are run in several locations in Swansea and all classes are run on a one to four pupil teacher ratio, with the exception of advanced length classes. Where appropriate the teacher remains in the water with the class, until they reach a standard where it is more beneficial for the teacher to be observing from the side. Poseidon Swim School prides itself on producing technically correct, confident swimmers by concentrating on achieving short distances with correct swimming technique. Once we have developed the three main strokes we proceed to build up stamina and speed but only when we feel the child has reached an appropriate standard. Poseidon Swim School is a member of the National Federation of Swim Schools. It has been awarded the STA Star Mark with distinction a first for Wales, showing we rigidly adhere to industry best practice.
