Manchester High School for Girls Preparatory and Senior School
Manchester High School for Girls offers students a vibrant atmosphere and a strong sense of community. In such a supportive environment, each girl feels happy, cared for and valued as an individual.
The Preparatory School takes pupils from age 4-11 (Reception to Year 6) and the Senior School takes pupils from age 11-18 (Year 6-Year 12).
We seek to bring out the best in each of our girls who are encouraged to develop their potential in many ways. Work in the classroom stimulates their intellect and shows them what the world has to offer, students' creative and sporting talents are nurtured and encouraged, whilst the extensive range of extra-curricular activities challenge and absorb individuals.
Our academic record is outstanding and girls are taught not just how to achieve excellent examination results, but how to enjoy learning. We believe firmly in educating the whole person and each girl's moral and social development is highly important; this is reflected in the School's Code of Conduct which is based on tolerance, respect and responsibility.
Students leave MHSG as well-educated young women with highly-developed interpersonal skills and a broad range of interests. Our girls are confident in their own worth, prepared for an independent life and capable of making a positive contribution to society. It is from this cornerstone that they go on to pursue varied and fulfilling careers.
Online we can only give you a glimpse of the special opportunities we offer girls. The best way to find out more about Manchester High School for Girls is to visit us, either at one of our open events, or on any weekday by appointment. We look forward to welcoming you to the School.
