Husband and wife team, Pam & Graham Cooper, who have both worked as teachers at local colleges, opened The Hornchurch Kumon Study Centre in February 2003. The centre has quickly become a thriving and important part of the local community. Although the majority of our students live in Havering and attend local schools, we do have a number of students from the Dagenham area. We have a working relationship with 14 surrounding schools that distribute leaflets on our behalf and occasionally recommend Kumon to students. At the Hornchurch Centre, we have students of all ages and abilities; our youngest student is five and our oldest is 15. Apart from a team of administrative staff, we also employ two qualified classroom assistants who both work at local schools. One of these is dedicated to working with the younger students at the centre. Kumon's English and Maths programmes provide long-term benefits, which give students the best chance of succeeding, both at school and in adult life.
