Climbing is a unique and dynamic sport and delivers exciting rewards both physically and mentally, if you are just starting out or already committed the Newcastle Climbing Centre will offer the ultimate experience.
Situated in the former church of St Marks the listed building provides a spectacular climbing environment with an internal height of 15 metres and over 1200 square metres of climbing walls for roped climbing and bouldering. Whatever your standard of climbing either novice or expert there are features and challenges to suit your ability and your ambition.
We offer taster sessions, introductory courses and instruction for all ages in a safe and controlled environment. Our mezzanine viewing area, specialist climbing gear shop, comfortable changing rooms and meeting room provide the very best facilities to all our visitors.
Newcastle Climbing Centre Kids Clubs are a fantastic way for youngsters to begin their journey into the wonderful world of rock climbing. We cater for kids aged between 5 and 14 years old and the clubs run every day of the week, please see times below.
As a NICAS Primary Centre, Newcastle Climbing Centre is able to deliver the NICAS syllabus Levels 1 -5.
The times of the Kids Clubs are:
Monday – 5.00pm – 6.30pm
Tuesday – 5.00pm – 6.30pm
Wednesday – 5.00pm – 6.30pm
Thursday – 5.00pm – 6.30pm
Friday – 5.00pm – 6.30pm
Saturday – 10.30am- 12.00pm
12.30pm – 2.00pm
Sunday – 10.30am- 12.00pm
12.30pm – 2.00pm
Kids clubs start from 5 years and above.
Cost: £9.50 per session this includes hire of harness, shoe hire is seperate.
To secure a child’s place please pay in advance at reception.
All under 18s must have consent form signed by parent/guardian before participating in climbing,
