The go-to guide for you and your child

Moseley Old Hall

Activities, Places2go

Moseley Old Hall in Wolverhampton, is an Elizabethan house famous for once being a haven of fugitive King Charles II.  See the bed on which the King slept and the priest hole in which he hid, and hear fascinating stories about what life was like in the 17th-century told by the house tour guides.

The grounds have been recreated in 17th-century style, with a knot garden and a nut walk. Further into Kings Walk Wood there is the tree-hide for children of all ages to explore.

There’s a tearoom plus events for visitors throughout the year, including demonstrations and re-creations of 17th-century life, family events and food tasting. Children’s activities on family event days.

It’s good for families because:

  • Baby-changing facilities
  • 3-storey tree hide in King’s Walk Woods is open
  • Space to run and explore in meadows, farmyard and woods
  • Changing seasonal outdoor trails
