Myself and my 6 year old daughter were recently asked to trial a new game from Jumbo called 'Disney's Guess the Film'. My daughter was very excited to receive this as she loves all things Disney.
The box itself is colourful and appealing and allows you see quite clearly how the game is played. On opening the box and the pieces inside it appeared to be very simple to put the game itself together and my daughter was actually able to do this herself. The board game come with two 'feet/stands', the main frame and a cardboard frame which slot together very simply.
The instructions for the game were very straight forward and to the point, which was a relief as it was easy to explain to a 6 year old and very simple to play. The game comes with 50 card pictures which are double sided and have a variety of images from various Disney movies. These are placed behind the main frame of the game. These have either a red, blue or green strip across the top determining whether they are classed as easy, moderate or hard to play. We liked this aspect of the game and chose to have a mixture of difficulty levels to play with.
The idea of the game is to roll the dice which has different coloured Mickey Mouse ears on each side to collaborate with the different coloured Mickey Mouse ears on the windows on the main frame of the game. Once the dice has been rolled you open a window which matches the colour you have rolled, revealing a small part of the image behind. You are then able to guess what you think the film is or wait until your next turn if you do not know. Once you have guessed you are out of that round if you are incorrect. If you guess right you get a token. The first person to collect 4 tokens, wins!
This game is great. It's easy to set up, fun to play and appealing to a variety of ages. My 3 year old son was also able to play as it is so straight forward.
Overall a wonderful family favourite!
My name is Charlotte, myself and my husband Colin have been married for almost 13 years. We have two beautiful children, Florence who is 9 and Maximus who is 6. As a family we love nothing more than walking our gorgeous dog, Willow, getting messy and creative and snuggling up to watch a multitude of films together!
