Although Coronavirus means that traditional 'trick or treating' might not go ahead in the same way this year, there are still lots of spooky ways to celebrate - including carving your own pumpkin! Read on to discover where to pick your pumpkin this Halloween.

The PYO Pumpkin Event will run from Saturday 17th October up to and including Saturday 31st October! The Farm Shop and Cafe is closed up until the Pumpkin Event. Pick your own pumpkins at the BIGGEST patch in the UK. Open from 1st October 2020, 7 days a week. You won't find a bigger selection or a more exciting day out than Cattows Farm in Leicestershire. At Cattows farm in Leicester, we will have over 170,000 pumpkins, squashes and ornamental gourds for you to choose from in 2020. Our selection includes many different varieties, such as our warty Goosebumps pumpkins, the white varieties called snowman, snowball and ghost and the ever popular mini Munchkins.  We will have 40 different varieties growing in 2020. Throughout October we have other activities planned such as our 3rd annual 5k charity pumpkin run, bounce to your hearts content in the inflatable fun zone, use the pedal tractors or climb bale mountain!  When visiting you can meet and feed some of the animals, and finish your visit with a well earned stop in the very popular tea room or take away coffee bar. Snarestone Lodge is a local farm specialising in the growing of Pumpkins! The farm grows several thousand pumpkins - as well as the largest - pumpkins in the area. Details to be announced at a later date.

Saturday 24 October - Sunday 01 November. This half term will see an abundance of totally NEW FANG-TASTIC FUN in the glorious outdoors of Matlock Farm Park! Every day (weather permitting), there will be a SPOOKY TRAIL for you to follow in our ENCHANTED FOREST, where you will come across some spookily fun character sets - hmmmn, who will you find?

Children will also be able to make their own fabulous potions and spells with WITCH WANDA in her magic garden. Also new for October half term is our GREAT MUMMY WRAP SHUFFLE, a fun game for families to do with their little ones and sure to provide laughs. Every day over half term, there will be bungee trampolines, a Gruffolo Giant Slide (weather permitting) and other entertainments, provided by an independent company - small charges apply. On Halloween Weekend itself, we will also be joined by the popular There & Back Light Railway, providing lovely little steam train rides for a small charge.

NEW FOR 2020! Pick your own pumpkins from our decorated woodland walk and enjoy fun for the whole family in a safe open air environment. There'll be plenty of pumpkins to choose from, photo areas, quizzes and more!

Our woodland walk is FREE to enter with no booking, simply pay for your pumpkins at the end. Find us within Garden King, follow signs in store. No booking required. Our woodland walk is open from 1st-31st October, 9am-5pm Mon-Sat and 10am-4pm on Sundays. We regret that there is no pushchair or wheelchair access due to the woodland floor. A queue may be in operation if needed to assist with social distancing measures.

Halloween Trails
Choose from 2 trails this year!! Go in search of monsters and beasts and join in our interactive selfie spot scenes! The Muddy Monster trail- For the more adventurous and those who don’t mind getting a bit muddy! The Mythical Beasts trail- A shorter trail for those with little legs!
Bugs & Beasties
Come face to face with your biggest fears with Tarantulas, slimy snails, crawly millipedes and other bugs and beasties! Our Professors will quiz you all on your knowledge of all things beastly and you can win points for your teams….will you be crowned the winner of our Big Bug Quiz!
The Pumpkin Dash

Fancy Dress Parade
Make sure to come in your best fancy dress to enter our Fancy Dress Parades running throughout the day! The winners will receive a prize from The Pumpkin King!
All the Fun of the Farm
Get hands on with Animal Activities, from  goat grooming, sheep walking & more! Head over to the Animal Patch to make plenty of new furry friends, learn all about them, feed & stroke them too. Hop, slide & climb in the play Park, complete with jumping pillows, climbing frames, sand pit & go-karts! Take a break in the Tea Room and enjoy our delicious, homemade food, made using locally sourced ingredients wherever possible.
