A fabulous weekend stay at Winchcombe Farm
We were so excited to spend a bit of time at Winchcombe Farm to escape the fast pace of life for a few nights and boy were we pleased that we did!
The setting was out of this world in the middle of a farm in Upper Tysoe on the outskirts of Gaydon and it was soooo quiet except for a few sheep.
The accommodation was of excellent, superior quality and the detail was faultless in each room with local produce left for a few essentials to get you started. We did bring our own shopping with us or you can order online.
First thing we did was have a wonder around the grounds, we said hello to the horses and a 'hi' to the chickens!
Then we had our evening meal on the terrace decking enjoying the peace and quiet of our surroundings. Next it was time to relax in the fabulous hot tub. I never knew that being in a hot tub could be such fun; relaxing, listening to your favourite songs with a glass of fizz - perfect ! Once we dried off we went inside and played a few games on the Wii which we wouldn't have usually done, but we were so glad we did as we forgot what fun it was. I was quite good at Mario Karts! After the fun of the Wii we all relaxed and watched a film on the smart TV , we were spoilt for choice as there was Netflix too.
We were really impressed with the bump beds which were discreetly stored against the wall but once pulled out they were very big, sturdy and plenty big enough for my teen age daughter.
We had a good nights sleep and we were all up and raring2go out and explore the amazing area!
We cant wait to go back and stay in Bob's Lodge next time! Thank you for having us xxx
Here is a bit about Will’s Tree House in more detail and Winchcombe Farm.
Will’s Tree House is a truly breath-taking architecturally designed unique structure, nestling on four sycamore and ash trees with three of them poking through the outside deck and one growing through the kitchen!
This luxurious abode has a bubbling hot tub situated on a lower deck, which you can walk into from ground level via the upper deck, with a comfy seating area also on the lower deck and complimentary towelling robes provided for all guests. The outdoor shower is a great bonus on hot sunny days and is hidden in an alcove for privacy.
Designed with outdoor living in mind, the huge tree-lined part-covered deck area is extremely well equipped with charcoal pizza oven, gas barbeque, hanging chairs, giant beanbag, hammock, dining area and wooden ergonomic sun loungers.
The spacious main living space houses a comfy king size bed and some extremely ingenious full size single bunk beds imported from France, that fold down from a hidden cabin behind the sofa. There’s also a huge leather sofa to relax on while watching the 55” SMART TV & DVD, playing the Wii U or listening to music via the WIFI speaker.
There’s binoculars provided to spy the wildlife that frequent the pond, including a heron, woodpeckers, Cherry Valley ducks and moorhens. There’s also a telescope should you want to do a bit of stargazing on clear nights.
The kitchen is up a couple of steps (with grab rails each side) from the main living room and is furnished with lush josephjoseph and SMEG accessories and has a built-in gas hob, electric oven, fridge (with freezer compartment), microwave and dishwasher. A welcome basket is left for all guests staying in Will’s Tree House, including fresh milk, fruit and delicious cake.
The sumptuous bathroom boasts a power shower over the bath, complimentary toiletries, plus super soft towels.
The woodland area which the tree house nestles in is a children’s paradise (and some adults too!) with pirate ship, lookout tower, climbing frame for toddlers and ground level trampoline.
Will’s Tree House has LPG powered underfloor heating throughout.
Winchcombe Farm is home to three bespoke luxury holidays homes nestling in an idyllic Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the rolling Warwickshire countryside on the North East tip of the Cotswolds.
Surrounded by a working farm, Winchcombe Farm lies beneath the famous battlefield landmark of Edgehill and is just a few minutes drive from Stratford upon Avon and picturesque Cotswold villages including Broadway and Stow on the Wold.
