Ruggerbugs - Have you caught the bug yet?
Sidney Says…Start YOUR rugby journey WITH US!
Since 2007 we have nurtured a great reputation in the community for FUN, high quality pre-school sports sessions through our unique rugby inspired “Head Start” Programme aimed at promoting a FUN and positive introduction into sport from a young age.
We focus on developing basic motor skills through running, jumping, catching and throwing games, laying down the foundations for developing important attributes such as agility, balance, co-ordination and spatial awareness.
Valuable life skills (such as: communication, listening, sharing, taking turns and teamwork) are gently introduced and developed throughout the sessions ensuring your child not only benefits from increased stamina but also confidence and self-esteem all of which are vital for a healthy lifestyle.
Our weekly sessions are designed to provide a range of FUN age appropriate skills, drills and games inspired by rugby and specifically developed with the Prime Area Early Learning Goals in mind. We support this through our “Sidney Skill Awards” so you can see what progress is being made on your child’s journey.
Your child will collect “Sidney Stickers” at the end of each session to stick on their “Sidney Sticker Charts”, not only are these FUN but they help educate them with words based around sport and healthy living.
Our FUN sessions are a pre-cursor to the RFU continuum (new rules), meaning your child will develop their running, passing and scoring technique as well as their decision making, both in attack and defence enabling a seamless transition to the four sided game of Tag Rugby as they progress to one of our associated rugby club mini sections.
Recent recognition by Premiership Club Saracens allowing us to become a Partnership Club and run sessions at Allianz Park strengthens our commitment to developing rugby in the community.
We fully support the key objectives laid down by the government in providing all children with a “Healthy start in Life” and believe our programme provides an effective introduction for all sporting disciplines, not just rugby, in developing the essential basic movement skills, confidence and self-esteem your child needs to participate in physical activity on their journey from childhood to adulthood.
Give us a “TRY” – it will make you smile!

Now that we are in autumn everyone is looking for things to do with the kids to celebrate this lovely colourful season. Here we have some great ideas, and they don't all involve being cooped up indoors! Get out and enjoy the cooler, fresh air and the crunchy leaves under foot - you can always return home afterwards for a hot chocolate and a snuggle
