Poole Harbour Festival

Poole Harbour Festival!

Poole Harbour is the friendly festival where families party.

With its stunning location on the harbour shores and welcoming atmosphere, Poole Harbour Festival has won the hearts and minds of local families who love a live music party on their doorstep.

A fantastic line up of chart topping bands The Hoosiers and Lightning Seeds with pop legends The Cheeky Girls and new indie favourites The Lottery Winners, coupled with great tributes and star DJs have seen family tickets very much in demand for this year’s Festival, which runs from Friday 28 to Sunday 30 July.

“Families love coming to us because we’re local, the site is big enough for everyone to have some space, there’s always something going on and the finish times suit everyone’s schedule,” says festival organiser Ben Dyas.

“Having an all ages audience adds something really special to the friendly vibe. The bands often comment on it as well – they love it when they can see the crowd having a great time. That’s why it’s grown to be one of the best family festivals in the area.”

A busy schedule of free children’s entertainment is kept up all weekend with the return of the amazing dinosaur shows, alongside Mr Merlin, Krazy Kev and Jules the Entertainer as well as street performers and the popular circus skills workshops.

Poole Harbour Festival enjoys an enviable reputation for the quality and diversity of its food and drink offer and families can be sure of a great selection of delicious street food and a wide choice of local ales and ciders at the bars.

With more than 50 acts over four stages, this year’s line up is the biggest bill in the seven-year history of Poole Harbour Festival. Indie favourites The Lottery Winners, whose latest album Anxiety Replacement Therapy went straight to number one within days of its release last month, are a late addition to the bill and appear alongside 1990s hitmakers Space revisiting their best-known hits ‘Neighbourhood’, ‘Female of the Species’ and ‘Begin Again’. Back by popular demand for a third year come Bristolian dance fusionists Dr Meaker.

There’s a strong line up of crowd-pleasing tributes to the likes of Queen, Foo Fighters, Oasis, Prodigy, Guns N’ Roses, REM and Coldplay, as well as a Dance Tent with cut-n-paste king Jaguar Skills, superclub star Tall Paul, original Junglist Nicky Blackmarket and the one and only Brandon Block, with Bournemouth’s own Freeze joining dance scene movers and shakers including The Manor Reunion with Jon Langford and Paul Moss.

Leading local live music merchants including the ferocious Millie Manders and the Shut Up, Filta, Saints of Sin and everyone’s favourite four string slingers Mother Ukers ensure there’s no let up in quality.

Poole Harbour Festival opens at 5pm on Friday, noon on Saturday and 11am on Sunday, closing at 11pm on Friday and Saturday and 7pm on Sunday.
