Lemur Landings is a huge and rather awesome soft play centre at Tower Park, Poole. After an epic refurbishment in 2017 they brought in exciting new climbing facilities and play areas making it the most impressive soft play centre we've ever come across so there is a lot to tell you about!
Little ones under 7 have exclusive use of Leweyville; a 7 building interactive role-play village plus a dedicated play frame and baby sensory room.
Not so little ones
The main play frame is suitable children under age 11/5 foot 3 and has plenty of climbing, tunnels, a ball pit and slide for children to run around. If your children are in that ‘in between’ stage where they’re old enough to explore the main frame but still want a grown up with them in case they get stuck I find the Lemur Landings frame fine for me to get around where as I have been known to get stuck in the tunnels at other centres!
One of the best parts of the Lemur Landings refurbishment was the new climbing equipment. Sky Tykes is great for children over 2 and under 1.2m to get their first tastes of climbing and really gain some confidence. The interactive Digi-wall is a cross between a climbing wall and computer game for children that are a bit older (age 3+). You can play one of 6 games, climb in every direction and if it’s quiet even the grown ups can have a go too! They also have an LED, 5metre high climbing wall. While attached to an auto belay wire to keep the children safe they can race to the top to get their best time before safely bouncing back down. You just need to be a minimum of 2 stone to have a go. (Adults can join in when it’s quiet but children always get priority)
There’s plenty of seating spread around the centre which means you can watch the children and also sit back and enjoy a coffee. The Jungle Café serves a large range of food including a children’s menu and range for smaller appetites. There’s plenty of other choices though whether you fancy a jacket potato, panini or even a cream tea!
Lemur Landings hold a great selection of evening events too, at Halloween their mascot Lewey holds an annual Trick or Treat Party and we love the Phaser Tag Nights which take place each school holiday. Phaser Tag evenings are great fun, the children are divided into small groups and play games with phaser blasters in the play frame plus they get a climbing session too. My once reserved daughter really enjoys these evenings, they’re excellent for team building, great fun and a great way to tire the children out so they sleep well after!
Poole Short breaks organise fortnightly soft play sessions exclusively for disabled children and their siblings. Pre-registration is essential and more information is available by calling - 01202 714700
During the week in term time Lola Lemur has her own pre-school classes for the under 5s with different themes such as food, crafts, art and character visits. Sessions run from 10:30-11:15.
When it’s that special time of year and you need to book a birthday party, Lemur Landings have plenty of options for you to choose from and they all take the hassle out of running a children’s party! You can opt for a party in the play frame, climbing, phaser tag or even in the Ted Shed for a Create-a-bear party and select a hot or cold menu depending on your preference and budget.
There’s so much at Lemur Landings you can take the children back again and again. To help your pocket Lemur Landings offer annual membership to individuals or families which gives you a discount on standard admission, parties, events, Lola’s Little Lemurs and to their sister attraction Splashdown!
