The new Injoy Centre at Ocean Village is a treat and we were very excited to be invited along and try out their facilities. I’d heard a bit about the centre but had no idea of the scale of the centre, it is pretty amazing and you wouldn’t believe there could be so much in one place!
You can’t miss the giant soft play frame packed with fun equipment. There are two separate sections, one of which is for the little ones which is sectioned off to keep them safe and happy. As an added bonus the children can enjoy the battery powered bumper cars for £1 for 2 minutes!
Wow, is the first word that comes to mind. The layout is pretty cool with trampolines on different levels. Again there’s a smaller section specifically for little ones to bounce without getting squashed. There’s also a dodgeball court, ninja course and our favourite the giant airbag with a choice of two levels to jump from.
There’s a great range of fun walls to try or climb the Super Mario style pipes then jump off (harness attached of course)! If you’re really brave/crazy there are a couple of add-ons and you can try the Leap of Faith or Vertical Slide!
The Interactive Room is something really special and we certainly haven’t seen anything like it anywhere else. Lovely kinetic sand table that you can get completely absorbed in. Interactive games projected on to the floor and screens which are horrendously addictive. We were using giant pencils to colour in flowers, throwing balls at the wall to stop ufo’s stealing toys and colouring on paper then seeing the pictures come to life on the big screen. Great fun and I can see this appealing to so many people. With the low lights and sounds even though there are quite active games it’s a great sensory space. The Interactive Room would be a perfect place to spend an hour even if you’re not using the rest of the centre or we used it to calm down a couple of notches after 2 hours of intense playing and bouncing.
For the parents
Some children’s attractions are easier on parent’s sanity than others. We’re pleased to report that a lot of thought has gone in to parents comfort as well as children’s entertainment.
With plenty of seating over two levels in front of the soft play area, we set up camp on a very comfy pair of almost like poolside chairs which were nice to sit back and relax in with a good drink.
There’s a good range of drinks and snacks with plenty of gluten free options which look just as delicious as the regular variety.
Injoy have their own chef and food all appears to all be freshly made. The create your own pizza topping station was certainly very popular!
We chatted with quite a few of the staff (none of which knew I was writing a review) all were really friendly and very importantly all were very hot on health and safety. It’s still parent’s responsibility to watch over their children but we saw staff keeping watch over all the areas including the soft play frame which I don’t tend to see at other centres and it’s great to know that Injoy want to keep the kids safe as well as entertained.
