National recognition for Talbot Heath
Talbot Heath School in Bournemouth are still celebrating since Head, Angharad Holloway was announced runner-up at the national i25 Award ceremony, which took place on Thursday at the Waldorf Hilton in London. The i25 celebrates individuals who are making a remarkable contribution in education and the event recognises the independent school sector’s top 25 leading influencers and innovators who have made a considerable impact.
In the lead up to the event, local industry experts voiced their support for Mrs Holloways vision for the future of education and development of the STEAM Hub.
“The Talbot Heath Curriculum is future-proofing pupils’ entire lives” Peter Truckel, Director of the VFX Hub BU.
“Angharad Holloway is one of the few changemakers who is really driving change through the education system” Sophia Story, Award winning App Development company, 3 Sided Cube, Bournemouth.
Mrs Holloway was nominated last autumn by Christine Norman, Chair of Governors at Talbot Heath, for the innovative interdisciplinary curriculum launched this year. The nominations were reviewed by a panel of expert judges who looked for outstanding examples of either innovation or influence that have had an impact in some way and has captured the imagination of others, changed their behaviours, improved pedagogy and possibly had a measurable positive impact on children.
On hearing the result, Mrs Holloway said, ‘I was so proud to represent Talbot Heath School at the i25 Excellence Awards, being named runner up in the UK for most innovative and influential educator of 2018 was a highlight of my career so far.’
