Young Raring2go! Review of the Remote Controlled Inflatable Minion!
My 4 year old daughter had the opportunity to play with and master the â2ft Inflatable Minion' toy recently which she has thoroughly enjoyed.
I happen to be a mum who dreads opening up instructions to a new toy as I often fail at putting them together correctly or truly understanding what the instructions mean! This meant I was very pleased with how simple and to the point the instructions were as well as how easy the Minion was to actually put together and get up and running. My daughter enjoyed attempting to assist me in putting the batteries in and adding the wheels to the Minion.
I was a little disappointed to see that the remote control required a different type of battery to the base of the Minion as it would have been a lot simpler if they had been the same. However, we thankfully had the varying battery types at home.
The age on the box is 3+ which I would say is accurate as my daughter was able to get to grips with the simple remote control quite quickly. It has a button for forwards, backwards, left and right and as soon as she had mastered that there was no stopping the Minion from racing around our living room with my 15 month old son chasing it frantically!
The base has a switch which allows you to turn the Minion off or on with or without the noises that he is able to make. My daughter loved having him whizzing around making all sorts of funny sounds, âbananaâ in particular. The switch that allows you to turn off the noise is a nice addition for us parents!
My daughter wanted to attempt to use the Minion outdoors which it doesn't appear to handle to well and doesn't move quite as freely. We had predicted that we would be picking the toy up every 30 seconds as our daughter drove it into obstacles, this failed to be the case and it managed to stay upright with most knocks and bashes.
As parents we would give the âInflatable Minion' 9/10. It did what it stated on the box, was easy to assemble and good fun for all.
Available from www.smythstoys.com and all good toy retailers.
