Rubik's Amazing Box of Magic Tricks costs from £24.99 from Amazon For ages 8+
To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Rubik’s Cube, a new magic set based on the Rubik’s Cube has been created by Marvin’s Magic. My children, aged 7 and 9, were really looking forward to the “Rubik’s Amazing Box of Magic Tricks” arriving and when it did, it did not disappoint!
The box itself, made of strong cardboard, looks like a Rubik’s cube and contains all the Rubik’s themed props you need, along with a very detailed instruction book. Once we got everything out it was hard to put things back in their place so we have taken some of the inner cardboard out and just used the box as a container - much easier!
The age recommendation of this magic set is 8+ but my 7 year old has loved playing with this and learning the magic tricks just as much as my 9 year old.
Our favourite tricks so far are the ‘instant solve’, a trick where you magically turn an unsolved Rubik’s cube into a solved one in a second and a mind-reading colour trick which will puzzle your audience. The cascading Rubik’s cube trick and the domino prediction are other winners so far. The book of illusions which comes with the set is also fascinating! Our only wish is that the box included an actual full-size Rubik’s cube as well.
Overall it’s an innovative magic set that our family love and we’ve probably only learned about 8 of the tricks so far (there are plenty more to learn) which has been enough to create a full-blown magic show for the grandparents. I can't tell you too much about the tricks as I don't want to spoil your fun!
