Review of the New Thomas the Tank Engine Film

e5d67599bbb698e0cb7ec7a0713419e2(18).jpgThe world’s most famous blue engine and pre-schoolers’ favourite, Thomas the Tank Engine, is gearing up for his biggest adventure yet in Thomas & Friends: Big World! Big Adventures! The Movie – the brand new 80-minute CG-animated special showing from 20th July, 2018 in UK & Irish cinemas.

Thomas & Friends - Big World! Big Adventures! The Movie

Thomas & Friends: Big World! Big Adventures! The Movie sees Thomas undertake his most epic journey ever as he leaves Sodor to fulfil his dream of seeing the world. The action-packed adventure begins when a mischievous little racing car called Ace comes to Sodor and inspires Thomas to embark on an ambitious trip without the Fat Controller’s permission!

This heroic quest takes Thomas across deserts, through jungles and over dangerous mountains as he travels across five continents seeing sights he has never seen before. On his journey to discover new places and cultures, Thomas makes friends with an adventurous, inspiring and fun tank engine from Kenya called Nia. But with so much for Thomas to learn about the world, will Nia be successful in teaching him a lesson about the true meaning of friendship?

Review:

I sat with my 2 daughters and their cousin (one 7 1/2 year old and two almost 5 year olds). They love watching Thomas on the telly normally, he is one of those characters who seems to have lasted the test of time. I was a little sceptical about a train travelling the world (I have 88657803b1e7af787dc8df3c6c034451(16).jpglost a little of my imagination in my old age!) but I was proved wrong. All 3 sat glued to the TV the entire film and once it had finished labelled it as 'AMAZING!' Very high praise!

The graphics were fantastic, the storyline perfectly showed children a whistle stop tour of the world and their different cultures. Nia, the new Kenyan train is a lovely, colourful addition to the show. The mischievous racing car, Ace, played by Peter Andre who inspires Thomas to leave Sodor to follow his dreams brings fun and music to the film...in fact the girls were singing the songs once it had finished!

A great film with much loved characters, and new ones to meet. Children will love the adventure, music, friendship, fun and insight into new continents.

Naughty but nice Puddings!

Check out our delicious puddings, my favourite is the limoncello trifle, not suitable for the kids, but there are some other scrummy recipes that the whole family can enjoy! Take a look in our pudding section for recipes to make summer BBQ's and eating alfresco all the more tasty! My girls LOVE the chocolate pizza - making it, but mostly eating it!
