Review of the Hape 6-in-1 Music Maker
Play the drum, shake the tambourine, ring the bell, scratch the board, rattle the ball or play the xylophone with the innovative 6-in-1 Music Maker. Toddlers love exploring sounds and rhythms as they experiment with music. Find out if your little one is the next famous composer to be.
As the world’s largest producer of wooden toys, Hape is clearly dependent on the use of natural materials. A full line of bamboo toys takes advantage of the special properties of this highly renewable material. Plastic parts are ensured durable enough to last for generations in order to encourage toys to be passed down rather than tossed out.
We received the Hape 6-in-1 Music Maker and we're excited to try another quality Hape product. As expected, the musical guitar was very sturdy and withstood a bashing from my little terror! It features many different instruments including a rattle, xylophone, drum and cymbols. The toy is brightly coloured and very enticing, it also comes with a drum stick to play the drum and xylophone. My son is almost 3 and has enjoyed playing with the instrument again and again. It is recommended for 18m+ and I would definitely say it would suit a younger age as well as it is bright and very chunky for small hands. Our friend's daughter is 16months and she really enjoyed creating music with it.
The only thing missing would be a strap attachment as my son enjoyed pretending it was a real guitar, singing and dancing with it and wanting to carry it round.
Overall a great product for first musical experiences and a toy that works for older toddlers as well.
The Hape 6-in-1 Music Maker costs £29.99 from Smyths.
