We have recently been exploring a book titled 'Rainy Day Kids Adventure Book'. The book is aimed as a family activity book full of ideas to keep yourselves busy on those rainy autumn days.
We are very much an outdoor family who likes to head out on family adventures.
The book begins with a list of items you may need to buy in order to complete the majority of tasks within the book, the items are relatively inexpensive and possibly things that some of us have in the craft cupboard.
We had a go at creating the wind spinners from the book which my two children age 6 and 3 loved making. We went out walking to collect the items we needed and followed the instructions from the book. The instructions were clear and concise and the illustrations in the book were also lovely. It allowed the children a clear idea of what they were aiming their end product to look like.
The book also includes information on 'The Water Cycle' and other similar information. My 6 year old found these aspects interesting.
The book is a fantastic family book, giving ideas of what we can do when the weather isn't at its sunniest or driest and allowing us to see that we could all do with making the most of the seasons! The activities in the book are possibly more adult led, especially for the age of children such as my own. I can see that if the book was used by slightly older children they may well be able to complete activities without as much adult input.
Overall a great book!
My name is Charlotte, myself and my husband Colin have been married for almost 13 years. We have two beautiful children, Florence who is 9 and Maximus who is 6. As a family we love nothing more than walking our gorgeous dog, Willow, getting messy and creative and snuggling up to watch a multitude of films together!
