Shoes to give children freedom to go their own way
Start-Rite Shoes announces a new identity and exciting new range as it reveals 18 months of in-depth research into children; their growing feet and how they live and move today.
The new styles are designed around the latest thinking in children’s health, developmental and social needs. The brand has also taken advice from an expert team in biomechanics, physiology and podiatry. Start-Rite shoes will endure whatever children put them through.
Designs and a fresh ID for a renewed purpose from this pioneering brand
The new designs are responsive to children’s varied personalities and activities. The soles are designed for life stages and there is high performance grip with built in slip resistance.
New testing regimes exceed all industry standards. This pioneering range will challenge the status quo and raise the bar on what parents should expect from their children’s shoes.
QUALITY BUILT IN – INDUSTRY LEADING TESTING STANDARDS
- Double the recommended stitch strength and super strong nylon bonded threads
- If a prototype shoe doesn’t look as good as new after the equivalent of 100,000 steps then it doesn’t make it into the range
- Shoes tested on 13 different surfaces, in line with where children take them on a daily basis
- Waterproof shoes tested by flexing them 30,000 times while immersed in a water tank
- Every new style shoe is trialled over three months by kids
- Riptapes are opened and closed 5,000 times. D-rings double industry standards
The product and design team has also managed to balance contemporising the traditional Start-Rite styles we all know and love, with creating new and exciting designs that still reflect the brand’s 226 year heritage.
