Stay Local – Short Breaks in Northumberland

WHY would you want to leave Northumberland for a holiday when our beautiful county has so much to offer for all the family come rain or shine?

From spectacular beaches to magnificent countryside, historic castles to fascinating museums, we really do have it all.

Whether your family is thrill-seeking, animal loving, sports mad or ready for a rest, there are attractions dotted throughout the county to cater for all your needs.

With a fabulous array of shops in our market towns, as well as top-notch cafes, pubs and restaurants, why would you want to go anywhere else?

And choosing a so-called ‘staycation’ doesn’t mean you can’t have a holiday away from home – after all a change is as good as a rest. Northumberland has a multitude of unique and delightful accommodation offerings for you to choose from to suit all needs and budgets. Whether it’s a cosy B&B to lay your head after a day stomping along Hadrian’s Wall, or a family-friendly campsite by the coast where children can run round with new friends to their heart’s content, there’s something for everyone.

For a real home from home, or if you want to cater for a larger group, a fully-equipped self-catering cottage in the middle of nowhere could be the perfect option. And if you want to camp with a touch of luxury, then there are various ‘glamping’ sites where you can enjoy the great Northumberland outdoors. So whatever you do this year don’t overlook Northumberland as a five star holiday destination.
